An AI-powered interview quiz system for recruiters — generate technical and psychological assessments, send automatically via email, or fill manually during calls. Features customizable question types, difficulty levels, timed responses, and detailed explanations. Built with Vue 3, Vuetify, and Django.
My Tasks
- Developed the complete quiz generation feature solo (design + frontend + backend integration)
- Designed the UI/UX for quiz creation, management, and candidate assignment
- Built the quiz model creator with configurable options (name, job position, question type, quantity)
- Integrated AI quiz generation producing questions with answers, explanations, difficulty, time limits, and competency tags
- Developed three question type modes: single choice (unique choix), free text (texte libre), and mixed (mixte)
- Built the quiz template management system — view, edit, delete, and reuse templates
- Created the question list view with detailed metadata (type, time, category, difficulty, competency)
- Implemented answer explanations display for recruiter review
- Built candidate quiz assignment flow — select candidate, choose quiz template, assign
- Developed dual delivery system: automated email sending OR manual fill during calls
- Created customizable email templates with personalized candidate messaging
- Built candidate list management with assignment status tracking
- Implemented quiz actions: cancel, fill manually, send, view history
- Designed the credits system integration (visible in header)
What I Learned
- Technical Growth: This feature required handling complex, nested data structures quizzes containing questions, questions containing options, options containing correct/incorrect flags and explanations. I learned to design forms and state management that handle this hierarchy cleanly without becoming unwieldy.
- Building the dual delivery system (email vs. manual) taught me to think about the same data from different user perspectives. The recruiter filling manually needs a different UI flow than automated email dispatch, but both need to produce consistent assessment records.
- Integrating AI-generated content with structured metadata (difficulty, time, competency tags) pushed my prompt engineering skills. The AI needed to return not just questions, but properly categorized, timed, and explained content ready for immediate use.
- Soft Skills & Professional Growth: Designing for recruiters meant understanding their workflow — they're often juggling multiple candidates and need speed without sacrificing quality. Every UI decision aimed to reduce clicks and cognitive load.
- Building the manual fill option taught me that not every user wants automation. Some recruiters prefer the personal touch of a phone call. Good software accommodates different working styles rather than forcing a single approach.
- This feature showed me the power of reusable templates. Creating a quiz once and applying it to dozens of candidates saves recruiters hours. Building systems that multiply user effort rather than just assisting it creates real value.
